HERE'S LUCY: THE CARTERS MEET FRANKIE AVALON (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series starring Lucille Ball as Lucy Carter, a single mother working for her brother-in-law Harry at his employment agency.
Lucy, Kim, and Harry go to see Frankie Avalon perform at the Wilshire Room club. During the show, Frankie invites Kim up on stage with him and they banter together, and he incorporates her into a show for a duet. Kim gets down from the stage and Lucy takes the opportunity to run up and recover Kim’s shoes, briefly conversing with Frankie. Frankie continues the show, performing various comedic impersonations. After the show, Lucy visits Frankie in his dressing room to tell him that Kim has been selected to appear at the club’s talent competition based on her duet with him. She asks Frankie to appear alongside Kim, and he tries to politely decline. Lucy is quite insistent on the matter, and he eventually capitulates. He and Kim perform in the talent competition dressed as Sonny and Cher, performing “I Got You Babe” and doing a comedy routine. The audience response is sufficient enough to win them first prize in the competition. Commercials deleted.
