SWINGTOWN: TAKE IT TO THE LIMIT {SERIES FINALE} (TV)
Summary
The series finale in this drama series about a married couple drawn into a sexually adventurous lifestyle in a Chicago suburb in the mid-'70s.
As the program opens, Tom and Trina prepare for their annual Labor Day clambake. Meanwhile, Janet thrives while penning her new advice column. However, Roger tells her that he has accepted the job offer in Cincinnati, which will require moving. Elsewhere, Susan barely conceals her suspicions to Bruce about his rendezvous with Melinda.
Later that morning, Janet goes to work and tells Henry that she's been given the column on a trial basis, but has turned it down. Across town, Laurie plans her future at college as Doug hears about an old friend who may have been hurt during an earthquake in Guatemala City. After Trina tells Susan to confront Bruce, Susan instead seeks out Melinda. Later, Susan runs into Roger at the train station and realizes that she's still attracted to him. And as B.J. and Rick help Samantha pack up to move to Maggie's home, the three overhear Maggie berating Gail for her drug-fueled lifestyle. Gail protests that she doesn't need a rehab clinic.
While visiting Trina, Janet blurts out that she doesn't want to move to Cincinnati with Roger. When Janet reveals her feelings to Roger, he retorts that the decision has already been made. Soon, Doug informs Laurie that he's flying to Guatemala to help rebuild the city, spurring her to pledge her help as well. At the beach party, Trina tells Susan that she's not going to keep the baby, though she hasn't told Tom about her pregnancy. As B.J. bids a teary farewell to Samantha, Susan tears into Bruce, then leaves the bash with Tim after pulling his key from the "key party" bowl.
Later, Henry tells Janet that she's got the go-ahead to write the advice column on a permanent basis. He also admits to her that he's gay. Back at the party, Trina reveals her pregnancy news to Tom, and they think about having the baby. Roger then calls Susan and says that he didn't leave for Cincinnati. He asks her to meet him at his hotel. As B.J. sees that Gail has left the rehab clinic and returned to her old ways, Laurie gets a letter from Doug saying that he's flown to Guatemala without her so that she can finish college. Finally, Bruce seeks out Melinda for a passionate kiss as Susan decisively steps into Roger's hotel room. Commercials deleted.
