CAPRICA: GHOSTS IN THE MACHINE (TV)
Summary
One in this fantasy series prequel to “Battlestar Galactica,” set fifty-eight years earlier and focusing on the creation of the robotic Cylons by ancestors of various "Galactica" characters. In this episode, Joseph continues to wear the holoband to try to find Tamara in the virtual world of New Cap City, guided by the tough-talking Emmanuelle. They go to the game's equivalent of the Adama apartment, where a druggie tells Daniel that Tamara is at a club called Mysteries. When gangsters suddenly break in, Emmanuelle shoots them dead. She later berates Joseph for freezing when she needed his help.
After a brief exodus to the real world where he gets advice on killing from Sam, Joseph rejoins Emmanuelle at Mysteries. There, he's singled out by the emcee and manhandled when he can't answer the evening's riddle. On the way out of the establishment, Joseph sees Tammy's initials on a wall and is emboldened to kill all in the club but the emcee. The emcee then admits that Tammy had performed there before disappearing. In the alley behind the club, Joseph sees Tammy's initials prominently displayed in tandem on a wall, making him think that she has claimed the game as her new home.
Meanwhile, Daniel is convinced that Zoe's avatar is hiding within the U-87 robot's frame, and doesn't understand why she won't respond to him. After Daniel tries to trick Zoe into revealing herself, she meets Lacy in V-world and complains about his tactics. The situation escalates when Daniel creates a ring of fire around the robot, knowing that Zoe is afraid of flames. However, she refuses to confirm his suspicions by moving. She also follows his orders when told to kill Caesar the dog. Only later does Daniel tell Zoe that the gun held blanks.
Elsewhere, Amanda finds the footbridge where she believes that Darius was killed. There, Amanda has a vivid vision of his death, after which she thinks she sees him driving away. Later, Clarice listens to Amanda as she talks about the experience, then tries to manipulate Amanda into discussing Zoe's avatar. After Amanda returns home, Tomas visits her and tells her how two of his employees were killed when the MCP processor was stolen from his plant at Daniel's bequest. A shocked Amanda orders Tomas to leave.
Finally, Daniel and Amanda reflect separately on the day's events as Zoe has a rendezvous in V-world with Lacy, begging Lacy for help before doing something that she'll regret. Commercials deleted.
