MISTER ED: CLINT EASTWOOD MEETS MISTER ED (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about a talking horse.
In this episode, Carol is angry at Wilbur for chasing after the missing Ed instead of attending Town Meeting. Ed tells Wilbur that he went to confront Midnight, Clint Eastwood's horse who's been stealing his fillies since moving into the neighborhood. Wilbur refuses to ask Clint to move, despite Ed's protests. Wilbur is more disturbed after finding out that Carol made him chairman of the entertainment committee at Town Meeting and promised that he'd write a play.
In the meantime, Ed arranges to have a party line with the Eastwood's house. By picking up on Clint's calls, Ed quickly sabotages a film offer for Clint, then causes a breakup with Clint's girlfriend, via some insulting remarks. When Clint finds out that the party line is shared with the Posts, he goes to confront Wilbur. But upon meeting Wilbur, Clint realizes there's been a misunderstanding. After figuring out what's been going on, Wilbur makes Ed promise to stop making calls, so Ed goes to the Eastwood home and frightens Clint's housekeeper.
Clint follows Ed back to Wilbur's barn and insists on disciplining Ed for Wilbur. Ed refuses to work with Clint, until hearing that Midnight is moving to Europe and Clint has bought a "pretty little filly." With the horse problem solved, Clint agrees to help Wilbur with the play by directing a Western story he'd written long ago. Clint casts Wilbur, Carol, Roger, and Kay as the leads. He then makes Wilbur and Carol play a love scene to help the two patch up their differences, just as Ed starts dating Clint's filly. Commercials deleted.
