LATE NIGHT WITH DAVID LETTERMAN {THE 360-DEGREE ROTATION SHOW} (TV)
Summary
One in this series of late-night comedy/variety programs hosted by David Letterman. Guests include writer/actor Peter Ustinov, toymaker Marc Bauman, and stand-up comedian George Miller. In this program, an experiment with the television picture is conducted in which it begins slowly to rotate a full three-hundred-sixty degrees. Highlights of the program include the following: "Late Night" regular Larry "Bud" Melman does a dance on the ceiling when the picture is at an even one-hundred-eighty degrees; Letterman does the "Dumb Ads" sketch, where he reads actual ads from publications all over the world; Ustinov discusses his latest trip to Russia, his impersonations of Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan, and the book "We Are the Children"; the Top Ten List, with the topic "Adjectives Rarely Associated with NFL Linemen"; the "Thrill-Cam"; Bauman and Letterman take a look at new out-of-the-ordinary gifts for the holiday season, including an exercise bicycle lawn mower, a face-down lounger, a plant that sings when it needs water, and a hand-held copy machine; and Miller ends the show by doing some of his stand-up routine and talking about his love life. Commercials deleted.
