JAPAN TONIGHT!: SOUND INN "S" (TV)
Summary
The seventh program in this special evening of Japanese
television, featuring seven hours of top-rated programs
from Japan's Tokyo Broadcasting System, which aired on
WOR-TV in New York. Tetsuko Kuroyanagi introduces this
installment of "Sound Inn 'S'," a variety series.
Highlights of this program include the following:
Shigeru Matsuzaki, Yukari Ito, and Hatsumi Shibata sing
"Jubilation" in a rock music production number featuring
the cast; Shibata sings "The Days of Wine and Roses,"
accompanied by a soloist on the shakuhachi, a Japanese
folk instrument; Matsuzaki performs a musical skit in
which he portrays a lonely man who invents a love
potion, with Ito, Shibata, and Matsuzaki singing the pop
songs, "Heartache Tonight," "Superman," and "Disco
Inferno"; and Ito sings "Goodbye Girl," accompanied by
pianist Joe Sera. Commercials deleted.
