Summary
Premiere of this series of comedy/variety programs. The program begins with a clip of Carol Burnett's farewell speech from the final "The Carol Burnett Show," which aired on March 29, 1978. Highlights from this premiere include the following: Burnett answers questions from the audience; Burnett and Tim Conway perform the sketch, "Mr. Tudball and Mrs. Wiggins"; Cheryl Ladd sings "Lady Gray," "Boogie Wonderland," and dances with a male chorus line; Kenneth Mars plays an unruly audience member; Ladd and Burnett sing "Just the Way You Are"; Vicki Lawrence, Ladd, and Burnett perform a spoof of the Andrews Sisters; Burnett sings "The Best Things in Life Are Free"; and the program concludes with "Carol's Theme."
