CBS PLAYHOUSE: DEAR FRIENDS (TV)

Summary

One in this series of irregularly scheduled dramas. This play is about a couple, Michael and Lois Graves, who decide to divorce after 15 years of marriage. Mike and Lois are invited to a dinner arranged by their friends, who are trying to reconcile the separated couple. Irritated by their friends' supposed well-meaning gesture, Mike and Lois challenge the happiness of the other three couples. As Mike and Lois are questioned by their prying friends, they question them in turn. Many things are revealed, including an almost all-pervasive feeling of boredom, hatred, and hypocrisy. In the wake of an evening of intense personal encounters, Mike and Lois' quiet resolve to live with the truth is seen as the most adult choice. Includes commercials.
