CBS PLAYHOUSE: THE FINAL WAR OF OLLY WINTER (TV)

Summary

The premiere of this series of irregularly scheduled dramas. This drama concerns Olly Winter, a black American soldier fighting in Vietnam. The sole survivor of a battle with the Viet Cong, Winter attempts to return to ally territory. In the jungle he encounters a Vietnamese girl, a dog, and an orphaned baby. Winter reluctantly allows them to go with him. While continuing their trek, they confront a young Viet Cong soldier.

Winter leads his group into a friendly village. The villagers agree to hold Olly's prisoner while he and the girl head south to ally territory. Trouble arises when Viet Cong troops enter the village and discover the direction in which Olly has fled. Commercials deleted.
