COLUMBO: CAUTION: MURDER CAN BE HAZARDOUS TO YOUR HEALTH (TV)

Summary

One in this series of police dramas in which Los Angeles homicide detective Lt. Columbo's unassuming manner masks his keen intelligence and sharp investigative abilities. In this episode, Columbo sets out to prove that television host Wade Anders is guilty of murdering his long-time rival, Budd Clark. Anders uses Clark's addiction to cigarettes to poison him by adding concentrated nicotine sulfate drops, which kill almost instantly, to his cigarettes. Anders hosts "Crime Alert," a program devoted to hunting down criminals on the run with the help of the viewing audience. Columbo pretends to solicit the celebrity's assistance in solving the case, knowing full well that he is the murderer. Columbo finds the evidence he needs with the help of the deceased's dog and discrepancies at the scene of the crime.
