AMERICAN PLAYHOUSE: THREE HOTELS (TV)

Summary

One in this dramatic anthology series. This program is introduced by actress Linda Hunt in commemoration of the series' 10th anniversary. This drama depicts the deteriorating lives of a husband, Kenneth (Jordan), and his wife, Barbara (Nelligan), through a series of monologues delivered in three separate hotel rooms located in Tangier, St. Thomas, and Oaxaca, Mexico. Kenneth is an important business executive who has climbed the ranks of an international company by marketing baby formula in Third World countries. Barbara detests his job, yet she is forced to play company politics. As each recounts particular events in their rapidly eroding relationship, the monologues reveal their tragic past, the character flaws each possesses, and the toll that corporate success has had on Kenneth's life.
