SUSPENSE: THE MARVELOUS BARASTRO (RADIO)

Summary

One in this series of dramatic thrillers. In this episode, director William Speer relates a visit he received from the Marvelous Barrastro, a magician, who tells him that he is leaving for Mexico City to kill Rico Sansoni, the greatest and most evil magician who ever lived. Barrastro tells Speer the story of why he has vowed to kill Sansoni. The two magicians met in Russia where Sansoni, by mimicking Barrastro's voice and persona through the use of his strange powers, seduced Barrastro's blind wife Anna and then disappeared. Barrastro is convinced that Sansoni can actually become Barrastro and believes that he continues to enter their lives. After Anna's death, Barrastro begins his search for Rico. Speer tells the audience that he recently read of the death of a magician in Mexico City whose car was hit by a train. There were two magicians in this car. The survivor, who identified himself as The Marvelous Barrastro, will need extensive plastic surgery to repair the serious injuries to his face.
