AMERICAN PLAYHOUSE: CITY NEWS (TV)

Summary

One in this dramatic anthology series. This unusual, dark comedy chronicles the struggles of Tom Domino, publisher and editor of a seemingly doomed, underground newspaper in New York City's East Village. Tom fights to keep the paper afloat, until one night an interaction with an unusual woman, Daphne, inspires a new storyline for the paper's comic strip and turns the paper into a huge success. Yet, as the small organization develops into a huge media empire, Domino learns that success has its drawbacks. Includes a promo for the following week's production of "American Playhouse," "Hughie."
