The Goldbergs: Your TV Trip to the 1980s
7:00 PM PT
In a season chockfull of new family comedies, The Goldbergs is a standout. Based on the life of its creator, Adam F. Goldberg, it’s the story of a loud but loving family—three sibs and their smothering mother, blustering father, and dapper grandfather—in the “pre-blogging, pre-peanut allergy” 1980s. The Goldbergs is equal parts The Wonder Years and Married With Children—with a nod to its obvious progenitor: Gertrude Berg’s pioneering radio and television show of the same name about a (very different) middle-class family.
