An Evening with Ted Danson
6:30 PM ET
A two-time Emmy winner, Ted Danson is one of television’s most versatile and acclaimed actors. Danson effortlessly glides from persona to persona on screen, morphing from the libidinous Sam Malone of Cheers to the ruthless Arthur Frobisher of Damages to Bored to Death’s jaded magazine editor George Christopher to a surreal version of himself in Curb Your Enthusiasm. Embracing risk-taking, Danson has portrayed such dubious characters as the misanthropic Dr. John Becker, of the CBS comedy Becker, and, in perhaps the most audacious choice of his career, the odious child abuser in Something About Amelia. In addition to performer, Danson has tackled behind-the-scenes challenges as well, producing such programs as Ink, the comedy in which he starred with his wife, Mary Steenburgen, and When the Bough Breaks, the television adaptation of Jonathan Kellerman’s mystery novel. Join Danson in a one-on-one conversation with Paley Center president Pat Mitchell as he reflects on his extraordinary career in television.
